Ndis review..

So my sons plan got rolled over for 12 months. Great, as it is a fairly good plan. I did want to apply for a support co ordinator. I was thinking that is ok as my other sons plan comes up for review soon. Well his plan has no core funding, but currently covers all his therapy. So I was thinking I can supply evidence for core support and put in his plan a support co ordinator. Cue today..I got a letter from NDIS. Thinking it would be for his review. The letter states that they are extending his plan for 12months. I guess as much as it is disappointing on the flip side I don't have to do his review this year.

This is the first year that ours has rolled over and I’m so thrilled to not have to do the planning meeting again 🙌

Hi, just giving you the heads up, automatic roll overs will most likely still get a ‘check in’ phone call at some stage. You may receive a random call from a private number (got to love this method NDIA use) the person will identify as an NDIA planner checking in are you happy with the plan, if you say fine and answer the other vague questions positively for them, the plan will most likely just continue. If you say your not happy and the plans not working, what is currently called a review will be booked. After July 1st the process is changing to be called a Re-Assessment. If you would like to be ready to add/change the plan, have all evidence and reports ready to go as it could happen quickly. The automatic rollovers is due to lack of staff to complete official reviews. The automatic rollovers are meant to only occur with you persmission or if a planning meeting can not be booked before a plan expires. In saying all that, I totally agree with avoiding the stress of planning meetings full stop and if the plan works enough, fantastic!

You can get the LAC to write a supporting letter to say you need a support coordinator

I have a suspicion that if you are using your funds across the 12 months and it looks ok they will offer a roll over. Less work from them. We were offered a 12 month or a 24 month roll over. I did the math and could make it work so I took the 24 month. I was more worried that it would decrease if I went for a review. Hopefully by the end of 2023 the process and funding will have improved 🤞
