Special needs parenting and what I can control
Do you ever have those times when you feel like life is out of control? I feel like I’ve been living there the past couple of months, navigating the beginning of teenage phase with our girl 🤯
Huge emotions. All the regular tools and strategies not helping and the rest of the family living on the edge.
I’ve decided that this week I’m going to focus on the things I CAN control:
1) the quality of the food I put in my body
2) how I move my body each day
Yesterday I spent a couple of hours organised my food plan for the week, shopping for food that will nourish me and doing a bit of meal prep so my freezer is stocked.
I feel so much better now I’m organised and I even did a early morning workout at my gym 🏋🏻♀️ BRRRRGGGGGHH! 🥶 Coldest morning of the year so far, but I loved it.
I know I can’t control everything in our world, and there’s always going to be things that don’t go to plan, despite best efforts. But it’s nice to feel in control of what I can be 💫
Have a great week Kindship Fam 🧡
Oh my gosh! I was only just thinking that on the weekend. We get so caught up in things and them get on top of it as best we can again. My son is 17 and has one more year at school. So the next phase starts with work experience and all the getting out in the real big world stuff. Have a great week yourself 🧡
I’m at this same point! I really need to sit down and organise certain things to make the daily easier
Must be the theme this week of organising. I have been sitting here thinking the same thing all morning about organisation
Thanks for the reminder We get so caught up in life we do forget the things we can control!! I definitely needed to read your post this morning x
