When will Ndis get better?

Just had my sons review. I had a support coordinator to help me with it this year and I had amazing report yet they have still stripped him of a lot of funding! Has anyone had that lately? This will be my 2nd appeal in 2 years Stressful!!

Gosh this is so unfair!!! It happened to us too and my son's plan was got cut by roughly 20k! I tried to appeal and was rejected. I reached out to my local member and got fobbed off so didn't go any further. Times need to change that's for sure!

Unfortunately this happened to us every year after Immy went from early intervention funding to NDIS, except this year. The only difference this year is we had a LAC who was awesome and used to be a planner at NDIA, so he knew all the rules and how to use them. Also, I submitted a summary table of all our recommended supports (from reports), including cost/hours, why it was reasonable & necessary, how it was good value, how it was outside the scope of normal parental responsibility and the risks to Immy and others without the supports. The LAC said the table made a difference because it was like a cheat sheet for the planner. I knew from the previous years the planners often don’t read the reports. Not all, I know there are some good ones. But all the ones Immy has had, haven’t read her reports thoroughly. It was literally like putting together a uni assignment. Stressful and time consuming. But it saved me reviewing this year, so worth it. It sux that the NDIS is so complicated and that so many variances happening in experiences. Are you going to review?

I really thought having a support coordinator to help me through the meeting would help the overall process plus it showed I was using that funding. I utilise all of his funding each year because at the end of the day we get better results. I feel like the planners just don’t really care. Well the ones I’ve had. I will definitely be putting through a review. If they want children to be better off later on why not put the money and time in now when they are younger 😌😌 So frustrating!

We are just about to ask for a review as our 21 year old sons plan was just rolled over without consultation in february, covids fault apparently. We need behavioural support desperately. He is prone to bouts of severe aggression hurting people and damaging property. Its time to look at moving to supported accomodation as my husband and i are really struggling with his care and our own health. Thankfully our support coordinator is very switched on.

I’ve got two participants on plans and they both got similar funding amounts but one needs 24 hour care and the other doesn’t , it doesn’t make sense
