Dyscalclia in children
Does anyone have a child diagnosed with Dyscalclia?
I’d love to hear about how the diagnosis was made, who made it, how your kiddo coped at school etc
My heart is breaking at seeing my daughter struggle with maths. Her teacher recently told us she still couldn’t do her 2 times tables, yet this is the homework she got this week 🤯
The idea of high school is absolutely terrifying and I feel like the worst mum ever 💔

My 10 year old was just diagnosed 3 weeks ago . He had a full sale iQ test and wip and disk assesment done through a clinical psych- school didn’t pick up on it . I did .
I have not heard of this but can understand when your children are far behind in education. My 11 year old daughter is in year 6 and is learning at like a year 2 level and is struggling lots. She has a whole stack of learning difficulties, probably has this too and I wouldn't even know with how far behind she is in school. High school is my fear too and it is fast approaching for her so I get the fear, I had that same mum guilt last week when I was told how delayed my kids are and that all my kids will be looking at going into support units. I just want to say you are not the worst mum ever, you are constantly advocating for your child and are always there for her. Sending you so much love and hugs.🥰
Is she in a support unit or mainstream ? We are in mainstream and get adjustments on the homework/ assessments and then some learning support during class . They basically reduce the amount of work they expect from her in the assessment to make it more manageable but it took us a lot of work with the school to achieve this
I think my son has this too. His teacher struggles engaging him at all with maths. It didn't come up in his iq test when he got his SLD (impairment in reading)(dyslexia) diagnose. Did the school test her?
You are an amazing mumma!! This looks hard to me 😬 Do they have a maths group at the school for kids who need some extra small group help? Maleah is in a group called EMU at her school. Maths is shit.
