Wins in the support unit

I fought so hard to keep my son in mainstream as I was so determined to fight for equality and inclusion- unfortunately the school he was at just simply didn’t get it. The main difference I have noticed is in a support unit they actually understand the need for a sensory diet and focusing on important things- he is doing so well this yr after massive anxiety over changing schools

How do they define a “sensory diet”? I’m interested in this!

regular breaks throughout the day - they have actually read his OT report to learn what his sensory profile is and putting things in place to align!!! Such a relief for teachers to understand and put in place!

So good to hear. My son is flourishing in his support unit too! The difference is amazing to see. I'm so so impressed and so glad I fought as hard as I did to get him what he required.
