Accepting Disabilities in the community
So today I was on the train with my kids and a lady with a severe intellectual disability and her carer came on the train and grabbed a lady to hold on was not meaning to be malicious just did not understand. My children got scared and so did other people in the carriage, instead of moving I stayed and gave my kids a lesson on disabilities and how we need to understand and accept people with disabilities. It made me sad how many people are scared of disabilities on this train. I explained to my children that this lady is child like and does not understand what is right or wrong and that she communicates by touch and screaming and making noises and that this is ok. I hope one day there can be more acceptance and understanding. Pic of my beautiful girls who I hope learnt something today and can be more accepting for the future.
