What is autistic masking

The very definition of autistic masking: I commented to my daughter that she seems happier to go to this rotary camp than what she did to the school camp. She said “Yeah, cos I just be myself and not my normal self” she has so much trouble at school with friends and is just in burnout mode when she gets home. The teachers only comment on how polite and helpful she is…

Totally can relate. Willow spends most of her days masking behaviours. It sure does take a toll on their little minds that’s for sure!

Can totally relate. We go through this every day. Teachers tell me how well he regulates when he is upset but he has learnt to mask so well that it all comes out as soon as he gets home. So good that Jess gets to go to rotary camp and just be herself ♥️

This is so sad 😞 With any luck your book will help this change! I'm so glad Jess can be herself at Rotary Club that is awesome 👌

My son hates going to kindy and I wonder if this is another reason contributing to why? We are pre diagnosis.
