Frequently Asked Questions.

Is this really free?

Yes! It’s fully funded by the NDIA — there’s absolutely no cost to you.

Do I need an NDIS plan or diagnosis?

Nope. You don’t need a plan, diagnosis, or referral. These sessions are open to any parent or carer who needs support — whether you’re just starting out or already in the system.

Who is this for ?

Parents and carers of children aged 0–6, with or without an NDIS plan, anywhere in Australia. Especially those who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure what to do next.

What makes Kindship different ?

We’re a parent-led, community-first organisation — and this isn’t just a program. It’s part of a national NDIA-funded trial exploring new ways to support families.
We combine:

  • Barb – our 24/7 digital navigator.
  • 1:1 coaching – real conversations that lead to real progress.
  • Peer support – because sometimes the best help is from someone who’s been there too.
Who runs the coaching sessions ?

Kindship coaches are parents with lived experience — trained to walk alongside other families with empathy, structure, and practical support. The sessions are guided, not scripted, and built to help you leave with clarity and momentum.

What do I actually get ?
  • Two coaching calls with a Kindship parent coach.
  • A personalised plan with clear, achievable next steps.
  • Toolkits and resources to make those steps doable.
  • A $100 voucher to thank you for your time and energy.
What's the $100 voucher for ?

It’s a thank-you for showing up. We know your time is stretched and emotional bandwidth is limited — this is our way of recognising that.

What if I don't know what to ask ?

You don’t need to come prepared — the session is guided. We’ll take you through a simple, structured conversation to help identify what matters most right now and where the gaps might be. You’ll leave with practical next steps, not a to-do list.

Will I be asked to sign up for Kindship Plan Management ?

No — there’s no pressure and no catch. These sessions are independent, obligation-free, and designed to support you regardless of who manages your plan.

Can educators or professionals refer families for this ?

Absolutely. Educators, support workers, and providers are welcome to refer families or get in touch to learn more about how the sessions work.
