Frequently Asked Questions.

Is this really free?

Yes! The NDIA fully funds the program under their Peer Support and Capacity Building initiative.
That's why there is absolutely no cost to you.

Do I need an NDIS plan or diagnosis?

No. We’ll meet you where you’re at — whether you’re waiting, unsure, or already in the NDIS.

Who is this for ?

Any parent or carer of a child aged 0-9 with developmental delays or disabilities (diagnosed or not).

What if my child is over 9 years old?

Currently, Family Support Pathways supports individuals aged 0 to 9 years old. If you’d like to see it expanded, register your interest here:

https://form.typeform.com/to/qVWin3Ez

What makes Kindship different ?

It’s parent-to-parent. Your navigator has lived this journey too, so you’re never just a “case file.”

Who runs the support sessions ?

Our trained Kindship Peer Navigators, who are carers themselves, combine their lived experience with practical knowledge.

What do I actually get?

Family Support Pathways provides a personalised support plan crafted by a Peer Navigator, practical toolkits to clarify next steps, and delivery options tailored to you (either a 1:1 call with a Peer Navigator or via email), along with follow-up check-ins to adjust and celebrate, all at no cost.

What if I don't know what to ask ?

That’s completely okay. That’s what the intake forms are for, share a little about where you’re at and we’ll guide the rest. You don’t need to have all the answers.

Will I be asked to sign up for Kindship Plan Management ?

Nope. This program is about support, not sales. There are no strings attached.

Can educators or professionals refer families for this ?

Yes, absolutely — we welcome referrals from professionals, educators, and community organisations.

Is Family Support Pathways available outside Australia?

Family Support Pathways is currently available to Australian residents only.

Can I get a support plan for multiple children?

Yes! You can absolutely receive a personalised support plan for each of your children, provided they are aged between 0 and 9 years old.

You’ll need to complete a separate intake form for each child so we can tailor the plan to their unique needs and strengths.

What if I’m not very confident speaking on the phone?

That’s completely okay!

We want this program to be as inclusive and comfortable as possible. While we love delivering your plan and conducting check-ins over the phone, it’s a valuable part of the experience; we also understand that it may not be the best fit for everyone.

If you’d prefer, your Peer Navigator can email your support plan instead. You’ll still receive the same level of care, guidance, and follow-up, just in the way that works best for you.
