Kindship community guidelines

Kindship is a community that is driven by kindness, support, and positivity. Our members have a sense of belonging to a group of people who share similar journeys in life and who understand each other on a deeper level. This creates a safe space for every member to be open, honest, and vulnerable. Here lies a big part of the value we wish to create for our members.

At Kindship, we have developed some guidelines to make sure that all members feel comfortable and safe in our community, physically, emotionally, and psychologically.

We ask our users to keep an eye out and report back to us, when they see someone breaking one of the guidelines below. We ensure your anonymity and nobody will find out if you decide to report misconduct on our platform.

We don't allow any form of discrimination or hate speech

Kindship is a place of kindness. Needless to say, we have a zero-tolerance policy for users that post content which supports racism, bigotry, discrimination, and hatred against users or groups, based on race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, gender, or age.

Users who don't comply with this, will be permanently removed from Kindship.

We don't allow harassment, abuse, or inappropriate behavior

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and has the right to express them. However, when engaging in a discussion on Kindship, we ask our users to interact in a respectful and non-judgmental way. Disagreeing is fine, putting someone down, harassing, shaming, or verbally abusing someone is absolutely not and will not be tolerated.

We don't allow buying, selling, advertising, or self-promotion

Kindship is a safe place for people to connect, inform and support each other. This doesn't include any type of trade, advertising, or promotion.

We won't allow any form of:

  • buying or selling goods or services
  • promoting businesses
  • promoting commercial events

We are not a recruitment or dating platform

Kindship is meant for parents to connect with each other and not with potential employers. We know finding a job or finding the right person for a job can be challenging, but for this we refer to other platforms.

We want to connect parents, but it is also not our intention to be a dating platform. Although we recognise that everybody deserves to find a partner, Kindship shouldn't be your main platform to look for love. Please use one of the platforms that mainly focus on finding a partner.

Any content that includes job ads, requests for services such as childcare, or anything alike will be taken down, as well as posts that are related to dating.

We prefer not to discuss divisive topics

We live in a world of free speech. We are aware of the fact that there are different topics that not everybody will agree on, such as politics, religion, the use of vaccinations, e.a. Everybody is entitled to have their opinion, but we do ask you not to start any discussions or debates about these topics on Kindship. We acknowledge that these topics are important and worth discussing, but these discussions will rarely be productive, might quickly escalate, and can eventually undermine the psychologically safe space we want to create for all of our members. We stand for connection, not for divisiveness.

Kindship members can learn a lot from each other and can create real connections with other parents. This is the main value for our members and we want to protect this at all cost. Offering a public forum for divisive topics can almost only jeopardise the value our members can get out of the platform. This is why we prefer not having any public discussions about this.

We ask members who want to make a statement about these topics, not to use Kindship as their platform. There are many other places where you such debate is allowed and even encouraged.

We don't allow fundraising posts

We understand that life is very challenging for many of our families and often there are public fundraising efforts to provide support. Due to the high frequency of fundraising in our community, Kindship is a fundraising free space.

We do not want our community feed dominated by fundraising posts or our members to feel obligated to make donations frequently, when they may be under financial stress themselves.

We can show support and care for one another by sharing our advice, tips and experiences and being each others biggest cheerleaders.
